Judge and Timer Ready? The Phoenix Forensics Team Finds Success at the State Tournament

This past weekend, the IA Forensics Team competed at the State Tournament! Overall, it was a fantastic end to an unforgettable season. The team competed after school on Friday and all day Saturday after working extremely hard since the beginning of the season in December. After five invitationals and the regional tournament, their hard work and dedication clearly paid off! Here are the results: 

State Champions:

  • Akshara Karthik, Alexis John, Daniel Liu, Mira Sripada, and Nikhil Kothari (Clue) – 1st Place (Multiple)
  • Katie Christian – 1st Place (Oratory)
  • Arya Goel – 1st Place (Sales)

Finalists:

  • Micah Anderson – 2nd Place (Poetry)
  • Priya Shah – 4th Place (Broadcasting)
  • Leah Raymond – 4th Place (Prose)
  • Vynateya Purimetla – 5th Place (Impromptu)
  • Diya Ramesh – 5th Place (Oratory 9/10)

Semifinalists:

  • Sanjana Kandiraju (Informative)
  • Shriya Bessabathuni (Extemporaneous)
  • Aadit Jain (Impromptu)
  • Ashley Lee (Oratory)
  • Sonia Hussain (Oratory 9/10)

The IA also placed second in Division B as a school! Congratulations to all forensics competitors, and good luck next year!
